Zenith Bank Plc has handed-over a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre to the Delta State Government for the use by the people of the state.
The facility, which the bank built as part of its corporate social responsibility projects is located in Asaba, the state capital.
The General Manager, Delta/Anambra zone of the bank, Mr. Sunday Ilegar, handed-over the centre and its facilities shortly before former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan left office.
The even t was witnessed by top government officials and bank staff.
The complex , which is equipped with the latest technology to enhance Internet services, comprises two e-learning training halls equipped with modern computers and other training facilities; an exhibition hall; training hall; conference hall; an office for the director of the center; server/online facilities; and other offices.It also has external facilities including 100KVA generating plant, 100KVA transformer and borehole and water treatment plant.
“The ICT Center is part of our contribution to your human capital development agenda and education of the people.
“The ICT Centre will serve as a training centre for the good people of Delta State on information technology as well as create employment.
“Over the years, our corporate social responsibility initiatives have been driven by a significant understanding of our socio-economic environment,” Ilegar told the governor.
Uduaghan thanked the management of the bank for the gesture, while noting that the bank has taken special interest in the development of the state.
He said the centre would generate employment opportunities for the people of the state and assured the bank that the state government would take proper care of the facilities.
