The immediate past governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam on Sunday in Abuja denied a report from the social media that he was arrested in London for wife battering.
His lawyer, Ogbole, P.H. who spoke to newsmen in Abuja, rallied friends and family members of the governor to disrecard the report as it is false and that Suswam was never arrested in London.
He threatened to instigate legal actions against those behind the publication saying that the publication was out to discredit the former governor and tarnish his reputation.
The report on the social media has it that the former governor was arrested in London by the Metropolitan police for allegedly beating his wife.
