AS Roma are reportedly considering Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho as an alternative to Arsenal target Tammy Abraham this summer.
The Serie A outfit have emerged as contenders for Chelsea forward’s signature this summer with it looking likely that he could leave Stamford Bridge.
He has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel and his minutes look even more limited next season with the Blues having secured a club-record deal for Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku.
Roma have been strongly linked with the England man, as they aim to find a successor for Edin Dzeko, who is set for a move to Milan to replace Lukaku.
Meanwhile, Arsenal also remain interested in bringing Abraham to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The Gunners might well have been handed even more encouragement with the news that Jose Mourinho’s men are now considering moving onto other targets including Leicester’s Iheanacho.
According to Sky Sports, Roma are considering lodging a bid for the Nigerian should they fail to seal a deal for Abraham. However, any move for the Foxes frontman is set to be an expensive one after his impressive season in the East Midlands
The former Manchester City frontman was top scorer for Leicester last season with 19 goals in all competitions, whilst he has also started the new season in a positive vein of form having scored the winning goal in the Community Shield.
He only penned a new three-year deal at the King Power Stadium in April.
Meanwhile, Abraham has just two years left to run on his current contract with Chelsea.
