A non-governmental organisation, Network for Youth Advancement, has pleaded with appropriate authorities to resolve the ongoing standoff between the rector and bursar of the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.
Mr Mohammed Basah, the president of the organisation, said this in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, expressing concern that the standoff might affect the operations of the college.
He also called on the rector and bursar of the college to seek peace in the interest of the students.
According to Basah, a situation where both leaders will engage in disagreement will impact negatively on the students of the college.
“The rector, Mrs Margret Ladipo and the bursar of the college, Mr Olu Ibirogba, have been at loggerheads on various allegations bordering on the management of the fund of the college.
“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that relevant agencies scrutinise the developments in the management of the college.
“We also call on the entire management team to resign if it cannot justify the confidence that Nigerians repose on it,’’ he said.
