Security agents from the Department of State Service (DSS) on Tuesday arrested the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari.
Also arrested in Abuja were the Secretary General of the NFF, Musa Amadu and a member of the NFF Board, Christopher Green.
However, 21 out of the 35 Chairmen of the state’s Football Associations have vowed to resist the arrest of Maigari.
It was not clear whether their arrest was over the recent fire incident at the Head Office of the NFF or over the protracted crisis in the football house and the associated allegations of fianacial misappropriation by Maigari and his associates in the football body.
DSS had earlier in July arrested Maigarion his arrival from 2014 World Cup tournament held in Brasil, over allegations of shadowy financial dealings regarding money provided for the welfare of the Nigerian team at the World Cup tournament..
Maigari had earlier on Monday formally announced his resignation as the chairman of the NFF as the football body seeks peace over the recent crisis ravaging the football family.
