The drama playing itself out at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) unfurled a new scene Wednesday when the Electoral Committee of the Federation released the list of candidates that have been cleared to contest election into the Executive Committee of the Federation, with only two out of five candidates cleared.
Those cleared by the committee are the proprietor of Giwa FC, Chris Giwa and Felix Obuah, according to the chairman of the electoral committee, Amoni Biambo, who disclosed in Abuja during a press briefing.

Three other candidates who collected forms for the presidency were not cleared.
They are the NFF acting president, Mike Umeh; a former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and ex-international Segun Odegbami.
Ousted President Aminu Maigari also collected form but did not submit.
Biambo said 60 forms were printed but only 24 were collected. Recalling the process that led to this stage, he said sale of nomination was extended from June 10 to August 4, while aspirants were screened between August 5 and 12.
Explaining why the acting president Mike Umeh was not cleared, Biambo said he obtained form for the position of vice-president but returned it as a presidential candidate.
Former boss of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Segun Odegbami was not cleared because he did not attach receipt to the nomination form with no endorsement from his South-West zone.
As for the former NFA secretary Ogunjobi, the electoral committee noted he was still under ban from participating in football- related activities hence is not eligible to contest.

For the post of vice-president, Chief Emeka Inyama, from the South East zone was cleared just as Chief Obinna Ogba, a former board member from the South East was also cleared.
Akinwunmi Abiodun Oluseyi from Lagos, South West was also cleared for fist vice- president.
Others cleared are Yahaya Adama from Kogi; Farouk Yarma Adamu from Gombe; Kachalla Baba Gana from Borno and Fema Mohammed Sani from Yobe are all cleared for membership position. Also cleared are Suleiman Muazu, Shehu Adamu, Babangida Tukur, Igbokwe Leonard, Anyasi Agwu, Atuake Oswald, Chief Effiong Johnson, Chief Obuah Felix, Sunday Dele Ajayi, Majekodunmi and Ayodeji Tinubu were all cleared for board membership positions.
