A group known as Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has demanded for the immediate sack of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Athahiru Jega, over what they described as his recalcitrant posture in effecting the reversal of the controversial new polling units his commission created recently for the 2015 general elections.
The President of the group, Udo Udogaranya, in a statement at the weekend, said the sacking of Jega was imperative at this time “before he plunges Nigeria into a political crisis.”
The group insisted the creation of new polling units was “primarily designed to make Northerners kingmakers in the presidential elections”.
