If presidential poll is head today, President Goodluck Jonathan would be winner, a survey has indicated.
An independent national opinion poll carried out around the country by a United Kingdom-based firm Kevin, Charlyn and Kimberly gives President Goodluck Jonathan the edge over his All Progressive Congress (APC)’s presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), with a margin of 13 percent.
According to the survey, the aggregate analysis showed 77 per cent for Dr. Jonathan while Buhari scored 27 per cent from over 30,000 respondents interviewed in the survey.
Vice President of the firm, Mr. Vince Onyekwelu, told Journalists in Abuja that the results were collated from a monkey survey sample of 28,000 respondents, 2000 respondents from Facebook and Twitter, and another 300 respondents from face-to-face contacts and telephone interviews.
“Different platforms were used and one was the survey monkey which is robust for academic research and also Facebook, Twitter and Face-Face discussion. The monkey survey was 28,000, Facebook and Twitters were 1000 each and face to face discussion was 300,” Onyekwelu said.
He insists that the credibility of the poll, which he said was based on what he described as the rigorous methodology used.
“The information is based on the perception of what people have, I don’t know those people, the research was based on several dynamics,” the vice president said.
He said that the war on terror was one of the major determinants which respondents answered to in the poll.
