Unknown gunmen on Wednesday attacked and killed the Iyaloja of Ijebuland, Alhaja Sadia Elewuju
The gunmen, numbering six, who were also wielding machetes, reportedly stormed residence of the 82-year Elewuju at about 3:00 pm.
According to reports, the Elewuju was cut deeply with matchetes from which blood flowed like rierlets. she was said to have given up the ghost while on her way to the hospital.
Late Iyaloja has been severally described as an outspoken and very influential person who did not hide her feelings on any matter, who championed many women, especially market women.
According to Newsintels report, she was courted in political circles.
“The former Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel built her the house where she was living” the source added.
She was installed as Iyaloja of Ijebu Ode by the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
