The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has promised all Imo citizens that if elected into office the second time, there would be total consolidation and continuity of his rescue mission agenda in the state.
The Governor made this promise at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri, the Imo State capital, upon his return to the state after the APC presidential primaries held in Lagos State.
Having heard that the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, would be returning to the state after the APC presidential primaries, APC supporters and admirers of the Governor gathered at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri to receive him.
The Governor arrived in company of the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and some other top officials of his cabinet around 6pm and was given a rousing ovation by the mammoth crowd who have been waiting for several hours.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at the airport, the Governor said that he was back to Imo State to continue the good works he initiated as his participation in the APC primaries was for an Igbo man to be represented in national politics.
Having picked the ticket as the candidate to contest the 2015 governorship elections in the state under the APC, he said that his second term in office would be dedicated to total consolidation of his rescue mission agenda.
Okorocha added that he would also ensure that he takes the state to an enviable height through his developmental programmes.
The Governor’s convoy then moved in a motorcade from the airport to the Government House as thousands of his supporters moved along with him with different posters and placards urging him to continue his good works.
Some members of his cabinet who spoke to Channels Television, said that the rousing welcome by the people showed that the Governor was still loved by the people of the state and they want him to continue his good works.
Having lost in the APC presidential primaries, and having emerged the candidate to contest the 2015 Imo governorship elections under APC, the Governor would battle with the candidates of the major opposition parties in the state, the PDP and APGA.
