A group, Coalition of Democracy Vanguard, has dragged the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, before the Code of Conduct Bureau over his claim of ownership of a Petrol Station in Ado-Ekiti.
The group in a petition dated October 27, 2014 and addressed to the CCB’s office in Ado Ekiti, alleged that the Speaker had breached the oath of office and needed to be arrested and prosecuted over the ownership of the investment.
Signed by the group’s President, Femi Omoyajowo, and Secretary, Bolu Alabi, alleged that for Omirin to have owned up to the ownership of the T.FIVE Integrated Petrol Station in Ado Ekiti , contravened the oath he took on August 6, 2011, when he was elected Speaker.
The Speaker had last week flayed the State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and accused him of persecution for sealing off the station perceived to have been owned by Omirin during an exercise conducted by Petroleum Task Force in the state.
The Group called on the Bureau to carry out unfettered investigations of Omirin’s claim that he was the true owner of the Petrol Station.
However, the Speaker at a press conference in Ado Ekiti recently said he has not breached any constitution over his claim of ownership of the petrol station.
