The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Godwin Obaseki winner of the Edo state governorship election.
The governor polled a total of 307, 955 votes to defeat his closest rival and APC candidate, Ize Iyamu who scored 233,619.
INEC announced the result after receiving the poll figures Ovia South-West LGA, which was the final council result to be announced.
Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated his rival of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in Ovia South-West LGA.
Obaseki won 13 of the 18 LGAs in Edo while Ize-Iyamu won five.
The final result is now being announced.

Total valid votes: 23,741
Rejected votes: 743
Total votes cast: 24,484
Before the latest results, Obaseki was leading Ize-Iyamu by over 80,000 votes.
