Justice Opeyemi Oke of a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere, has fixed April 23 for Case Management Conference, CMC, for possible settlement over the suit filed by Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the widow of late Chukwuemeka Odimegwu-Ojukwu against Ojukwu Transport Limited, OTL, and seven others.
Justice Oke fixed the date for the conference after establishing that the parties in the matter have filed and served their pleadings.
The matter was adjourned for hearing, at CMC to enable the judge determine if parties has filed their papers on time and if the parties have tried to settle the case.
During the conference, the trial judge would try to help parties choose a good process for working on a settlement.
The suit was before the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Funmilayo Atilade before it was reassigned to Justice Oke for adjudication, after she became the chief Judge of Lagos state.
Bianca, who is suing for her two under-aged children, Afamefuna and Nwachukwu (claimants), wants the court to declare that her children are entitled to the possession and occupation of the property known as No 29, Oyinkan Abayomi Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, until the harmonisation of the management and administration of the assets of the first defendant, OTL.
