Alhaji Sidi Umar, a community leader at Tsamiyar-Dilar in Sokoto North Local Government area of Sokoto State, on Tuesday called on the PHCN to provide pre-paid meters for electricity consumers to ensure effective revenue generation.
Umar told the newsmen in Sokoto that the meters would enable consumers to judiciously utilise power.
He said that the system would encourage consumers to utilise the amount of energy purchased.
He explained that distribution of the meters would enhance the company’s revenue generation as consumers paid promptly.
“The product should be given free of charge to consumers so that it would help in managing power supply,” he said.
He said that the situation had encouraged Nigerians to resort to massive use of generators as source of power supply.
