BlackBerry released its Passport smartphone on Wednesday in a push to realign itself with the business community.
The phone features square screen and is reportedly “ideal for reading and editing documents”, said Bloomberg’s Caroline Hyde.
“It’s going to be 4.5 inches…smaller than the iPhone 6. There’s going to be a keyboard, this is something that (BlackBerry) have really gone back to.”
The passport will retail at $599 (converted to approximately £366).
Ms Hyde continued: “It’s clearly aimed front and centre at the business community. They say there will be excel spreadsheets… (with) higher resolution to examine x-ray images.
“You can get things done with a BlackBerry assistant.
“This is about trying to break even for the company.”
