The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Special Duties, Nobert Obi, has said the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is currently reaping the benefit of its good governance in Anambra State and will continue to attract new members.
Obi spoke to Daily Independent following the decamping of over 2,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekwusigo Local Government Area and previous decamping of members of other parties to APGA in Delta State.
Those who decamped in Ekwusigo, he said, did so in his Ozubulu Ward II, saying they can no longer stay in opposition, as they have no doubt about the good works successive APGA governors have done in the state.
He said with giant strides being recorded by Obiano already, the sky is the limit in the development of Anambra State.
More importantly, Obi said those who decamped, led by IchieAkunna Ezeonwu and Dom Onwuzulike formerly of the state radio and television service and the Publica Relations Officer of the party, have no option than to join the party and have their names recorded in history as being part of good governance being witnessed in the state.
“Part of their reasons for decamping was the services offered them by the state government and me especially in employment in my capacity. Schools, both primary and secondary in Ekwusigo Local Government have been fully rehabilitated; roads that kinked all the four communities in the local government namely: Ozubulu,Oraifite, Ihembosi and Ichi have all been fully rehabilitated. They saw the light. Promises were made and kept and so they were happy”, Obi said.
It would be recalled that during the decamping, the Special Adviser to Obiano on Inter-party Matters, Joemartins Uzodike, who represented the governor, welcomed the new members by distributing party wears and promising them equal opportunity in the party.
