The Enugu State chapter and f the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has warned against re-electing the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2023, saying that most Nigerians would not survive the trauma of misrule of the party for another four years.
A member of the State Executive Committee, EXCO, of the party and chairman of Igboeze North Local Government of the party, Chief Boniface Odo made this known in an interview with reporters in Enugu on Saturday.
Odo, also blamed a section of the Nigerian media for misleading Nigerians into believing that the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, administration led by former President Goodluck Jonathan was evil while the APC was on rescue mission to free the people from bondage, adding that Jonathan should now be proclaimed a Saint, following the absymal performance of the APC -led administration.
He accused the APC of trying to select some “Dinesours to form the government again” in 2023, to the detriment of Nigerians.
On the performance of the ruling PDP administration in the state, Odo said there no government presence in Igboeze North local government.
He claimed that the PDP government was owing primary school teachers and local government workers their entitlements including, failure to pay them the new minimum wage as well as several years arrears of gratuities and pensions.
“The PDP promised to construct the Ogrute – Umuogb- Aji- Umuopu as well as the Ogrute- Igogoro – Ikpamodo- Okpo road among others. In the past six and a half years of the administration, the constructions have not moved beyond one kilometre each.
“Our people must learn from experience. We must look for and vote for APGA which is running a progressive administration in Anambra State. We have supported the PDP for over 18 years now. Let’s vote for APGA to move both our state and local government to the next levels,” he said.
