Controversial Catholic Priest, Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has closed down his weekly crusade till after the general elections commencing March 28, 2015.
Mbaka whose Adoration Ministries, Enugu, hosts the weekly crusade was quoted to have said he was suspending the crusade until after the general elections due to alleged threat to life.
Mbaka brought an ant-infested firewood to himself when he vered into the muddy waters of politics during his New Year message to deliver a diatribe on the President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mbaka who before then was wont to singing the president’s praise appeared out of sort when he literarily dismmissed President Jonathan’s ambition as doomed. This message has become of great controversy with all but the most ardent supporters condemning such unguarded vituperations of the priest on an incumbent president.
This left no fewer than 100,000 worshippers stranded and disappointed last Friday.
The cancellation of the crusade left many worshippers disappointed. The Adoration Ground in Emene, Enugu, is noted for attracting over 100,000 worshippers every Friday from the South-East zone and beyond for spiritual healing and deliverance from satanic attacks.
Mbaka had in a statement signed by his Media Officer, Ike Maximus Ugwoke, stated: “It is with a deep sense of concern that we are constrained to make this statement on the continued threat to the life of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his 2015 New Year message titled ‘From Good Luck to Bad Luck.’
“Last Wednesday, mean looking men in a black Hilux besieged his parish compound but they left disappointed when they could not see him”.
