The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on September 9 begin the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to voters in Adamawa State, as part of the preparations for the governorship election.
The distribution will take place at the Polling Unit level and will hold between September 9 and 11.
In a draft released on Wednesday, the INEC said that voters who could not collect their PVC within the specified period would have to go to the Local Government Area (LGA) offices of the Commission to get theirs.
Eligible voters, who registered in 2011 and were given Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs), are to exchange them with the PVCs which will be used for the governorship election and subsequent elections in 2015.
The Adamawa by-election is slated for the October 11, and it is expected that the process would help replace the impeached governor, Mr Murtala Nyako.
