The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch A, Adeboye, has people hide under misconstrued notion of God’s grace that the Almighty is not a father Christmas.
Adeboye in a message Titled Wonderful at the 68th Anual Convention of RCCG which ended on Sunday, in which he explored different facets of God’s wonders, said that he had heard people talk about God’s grace in the New Testament dispensation as if God’s anger belong to the Old Testament, saying that nothing could further than the truth.
He said that what grace does is to enable you apply yourself to his will and not make God condone sin.
He said that those who think that God’s anger belong to old testament forget that Ananias and his were killed by the Holy Spirit for the sin of lying.
He also cited the case of the theimpotent man by the Pool of Bethsaida, whom Jesus told to carry his bed and walk but to sin no more.
“Don’t let any body deceive you, my God is not a ‘Father Christmas. The Bible says whomever he lives He chastices. Don’t mess with God.
Citing Rev. 3 verse 19 and various other references, he enjoined Christians not anger God by committing sin.
He said that according to Psam 7 verse 11,God is angry with the wicked everyday, and when He decides to be angry he does int a terrible way.
He referred his audience to the cases of Sodom and Gomorrah and Satan, Abiram and Korah who were destroyed when they made Him angry.
‘Don’t say I didn’t tell you my brothers, God can be wonderfully angry. Those who are playing game with Almighty God watch it, ” the reverred clergy said.
He used the occasion to remind those who are yet to give their lives to Jesus to do so since all those who do not know Him are counted as wicked before God.
