Preparations for the Adamawa Governorship election has started and voters would get their Permanent Voter’s Cards between Tuesday, September 9 and Thursday September 11, 2014.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday, released the plans and said that the distribution of the PVCs would take place at the Polling Unit level.
The electoral commission stated that after September 11, 2014, those who fail to get their PVCs within the specified period would have to go the Local Government Area (LGA) offices of the Commission to get theirs.
Eligible voters who registered in 2011 and were given Temporary Voter’s Cards (TVCs) are to exchange them with the PVCs, which would be used for the governorship election and subsequent elections in 2015.
The Adamawa bye-election is slated for October 11, 2014. It is expected that the process would help replace the impeached governor, Mr Murtala Nyako.
