President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari, has tested positive to coronavirus.
However, the President himself tested negative to the rampaging virus, which appears to be taken more serious dimensions in Nigeria in recent days.
The test o the President was conducted Tuesday following the report on the test by Kyari which was positive.
The test became necessary after his Chief of Staff,
Daily Trust reports that Kyari, who was sighted after Jum’aat prayers on Friday, was not seen at the Presidential Villa, Abuja today.
According to the newspaper, he was believed to have contracted the disease after his recent trip abroad.
The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, who didn’t pick his call, sent text message to Daily Trust correspondent, saying: “Sorry, I can’t talk right now”.
A presidential aide however confirmed the story, saying that an official statement will be issued later.
