The Clerk, Abia State House of Assembly, Mr. Johnpedro Irokansi, has urged ex-Governor Orji Uzor Kalu to halt all his political hostilities against Governor Theodore Orji, and show genuine repentance from his propaganda against Orji’s administration if he wants to be re-admitted into the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Kalu left the PDP in 2011 at the height of his political tussle with former President Olusegun Obasanjo and formed the Progressive Peoples Alliance which he had allegedly dumped late last year when he made botched moves to return to the PDP.
Irokansi, who was reacting to the allegation by the state government that Kalu was using his newspaper organisation to run down Abia State, advised the former governor to stop his wishful thinking of trying to return to the PDP through the back door.
He said it would be improper for Kalu to think he could intimidate or pressure the state government into opening the door for his re-entry into the PDP by using his newspaper to propagate falsehood against the government.
Irokansi said, “It is obvious that Kalu has been making several desperate attempts to return to the PDP and the people including his electoral ward in Igbere rejected and rebuffed him.
“I will rather advise the former governor to reconsider and reassess himself with a view to putting himself in the proper nature to be acceptable to his people than behave like a drowning man grasping for straws.”
Irokansi, however, warned that should Kalu fail to turn a new leaf, the state government would dust the record of his administration and make him to account for his activities while in office.
“Kalu should go and take shelter elsewhere, not in the PDP; he should
leave Orji alone. We don’t want to open old wounds. The former governor should allow sleeping dogs lie
