A team from the Federal Ministry of Lands and Housing, Abuja, on Tuesday
in Ado Ekiti inspected the site of the proposed federal secretariat in
the state.
The team, led by a Deputy Director in the ministry, Mr Paul Udeozor, was
conducted round the site, located along new Iyin road, by the Federal
Controller of Works in the state, Mr Olu Gbadebori.
The team later met with the Chairman, Transition Committee, Mr Dipo
Anisulowo, on behalf the Governor-elect, Mr Ayo Fayose, on how to
start construction work after his inauguration on Oct. 16.
Anisulowo told the team that the incoming administration would give
maximum cooperation to the Federal Government in the execution of
federal projects in the state.
“You know that when our party, the PDP, held its grand rally on June 7,
President Goodluck Jonathan promised the state more federal presence if
they vote for our candidate.
“We thank the people of the state for doing their own part by voting
massively for our candidate and the party,’’ he said.
“We are not going to disappoint them as all the promises we made will
be fulfilled; the proposed federal secretariat is one of the numerous
projects that the PDP will bring to the state from Abuja.’’
The delegation also visited the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Olusola Eleka,
who thanked the President for acting fast to fulfill the promises he
made to Ekiti people
