Kano state governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has opened his national campaign office in the nation’s capital Abuja, with a declaration that he is the only aspirant with the clout to win a large chunk of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) votes in the 2015 presidential election.
The campaign office located within Mabushi district of FCT was declared open by a former Kogi state governor and APC chieftain, Prince Abubakar Audu, before an array of party faithful and supporters.
Kwankwaso said if he emerged the APC flagbearer, his political network across the country would not only divide the votes of the PDP, it would certainly give the opposition party success at the presidential election.
“Winning the primary election is a direct ticket to winning the presidential election. Let me assure you that among the candidates we have so far in the APC, I am happy to say that I am the only person who can divide the votes of the PDP and take the larger portion. I am not talking about the APC because I am sure I will get 100 per cent of the votes,” he said.
He also appealed to PDP federal lawmakers to join them in the APC, saying that the G-5 governors and their supporters saw the handwriting on the wall before leaving the PDP as it was no longer a democratic party as the name suggests.
“Let me call on many of my former colleagues, members of the national and state assemblies to see the hand writing on the wall. I saw the writing on the wall long time ago and that was why I left PDP. Many people are beginning to see the writing on the wall now. Our party is open to receive our friends because this is where they belong.
