The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that it will license two infrastructure companies in the next two weeks, to enhance broadband penetration.
NCC Executive Vice Chairman Eugene Juwah said the companies would be sited in Lagos and one of the states in the North-Central region.
According to Juwah, the two infrastructure companies are among seven companies to be licensed for the provision of broadband infrastructure in Nigeria.
He said that the NCC adopted the open access model based on the recommendation of consultants.
