Nigerian sports community has lost an important member. Ebullient cum cerebral sports journalist and administrator, Dr. Felix Okugbe.
Okupe, who was President of the Nigerian Archery Federation (NAFED), was a former Head of Sports at DAAR Communications Plc but was better known as a veteran sports journalist and broadcaster with Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower FM, both operated by DAAR.
NAFED Secretary General Dapo Sotiminu said in an sms: “NAFED President, Dr. Felix OKUGBE, is gone. He died 10pm yesterday night at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.”
Sotiminu did not disclose the cause of Okugbe’s death.
