Sepp Blatter The annual general assembly of the confederation of African Football CAF has endorsed Sepp Blatter for FIFA presidency during the 2015 FIFA elective congress. This was part of the decisions reached at the end of the CAF assembly in Addis Abba, Ethiopia over the weekend.
CAF also named, Cameroun as host of the 2019 AFCON championship, while Cote d’Voire will welcome Africa in 2021. Also, the 2023 edition of the tournament will be played in guinea, in solidarity with the country over its fight against Ebola virus diseases. CAF President, Issa Hayatou disclosed that no nation was granted the 2017 AFCON after the withdrawal of Libya. Hayatou said, 2017 host will be decided in the first quarter of 2015.
The continental body also constituted a task force to brainstorm on how to combat violence and age cheating in African football. CAF also maintained restrictions on Liberia, guinea, and Sierra Leone from hosting it’s matches
