The insecurity in the North-east of the country as foisted by the deadly Boko Haram terrorists was not the creation of President Goodluck Jonathan but was inherited by his administration,mMinister of thnate Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sen. Bala Mohammed, said on Wednesday.
Mohammed spoke in Abuja during a meeting of PDP Stakeholders including the leadership of the six geo-political zones resident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Inability to deal effectively with the insurgency in the North has been the Archilles’ heel of Jonathan administration. Though Emergency Rule has been in place in the North East, the close to two years, the Nigerian military has been unable to degrade the activities insurgent group.
Mohammed said,, “President Jonathan inherited this menace of insurgency and his id on Wednesdayadministration has been working assiduously to tackle it headlong.
“The problem is not restricted to Nigeria because it has global dimension. Nevertheless, this government has the will power to defeat and stamp out insurgency from the country and mbake it t for history”.
The minister therefore called for continued support of people to the government particulanrly the military.
He said that the Transformation Agenda of the President has been able to put smiles on the faces of the residents of the FCT and cited the achievement of the expansion and rehabilitation of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua (Airport Road) as well as the Murtala Muhammad (Kubwa Raod) Expressways.
Mohammed added that the Federal Government under President Jonathan has been able to complete the Gurara Water transfer scheme as well as the 3rd and 4th Phases of the Lower Usuma Dam to the glory of God and benefit of all.
