Some eminent Nigerians will on Tuesday converge in Abuja to sek to save the Nigeria ship which is already on a nosedive from hitting rock-bottom.
The festering insecurity in the country is putting Nigeria’s existence as a country into a severe test, and the ’emergency national intervention meeting of senior citizens and leaders of conscience’ is a major attempt at pulling it back from the brink.
An online news platform, News Express, said that it stumbled on the well-guarded list of 17 senior citizens and 81 leaders of conscience expected to attend the meeting in the nation’s capital.
According to the online news platform, the main agenda of the meeting slated to hold on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 is to find ways of rescuing the country from total collapse.
According to the medium, the list of senior citizens expected to attend the meeting are former Commonwealth Secretary General Emeka Anyaokwu, former Chief of Army Staff Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd), Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Elderstatesman Edwin Clark, Nobel laureate Prof Wole Soyinka and former Nigerian Ambassador to United Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade, among others.
It gave the full list of all expected attendees as compiled by the National Consultative Front (NCFront), which is yet to be made public, as shown below: UPDATED TENTATIVE LIST OF PROPOSED EMINENT LEADERS OF CONSCIENCE TO BE INVITED TO ATTEND NCFront EMERGENCY NATIONAL INTERVENTION MEETING WITH THE EXPANDED STEERING COMMITTEE OF THE NCFront TO SAVE AND RESCUE NIGERIA SLATED FOR TUESDAY, 8TH JUNE, 2021 IN ABUJA

During the heady days of the late Sani Abacha regime in the early 1990s, some eminent Nigerians led by late Alex Ekwueme braved the odds to form G34 that was to stand up to late dictator’s plan to transmute to a civilian president.
It is yet to be seen how this current plan pans out, and how many of the names listed actually have a buy-in.
We could not establish contact with the National Consultative Front (NCFront), which is the pan-Nigeria body organising the national intervention meeting, before going to press.
More details as they unfold.
