Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections have risen to about 30,000 with the numbers in various states in the country on uptick.
By the records of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Nigeria as at Tuesday had
29,879 confirmed cases, out of which 12,108 have been discharged while 669 unfortunately died.
According to the Centre’s report on Tuesday via its official handle, Lagos remained the epicentre of the dreadful virus in the country with 154, followed by Ondo which logged in 76, and then Edo 54.
Others are: FCT (41), Enugu (34), Rivers (30), Benue (24), Osun (20), Kaduna (15), Kwara (13), Abia (9), Borno (8), Plateau (6), Taraba (5), Ogun (3), Kano (3), Kebbi (2), Nasarawa (2), Bayelsa (1), and Gombe (1).
Incidentally, most Nigerians appear to a have abandoned precautionary measures against the pandemic.
In the streets of most cities, such measures as social distancing, mask-wearing, hand washing are receding into memory, despite government efforts.
