The coordinator of the World Bank’s State Employment and Expenditure for Result (SEEFOR) project in Delta, Benson Ojoko, has said the scheme engaged 160 refuse disposal contractors in the state.
Ojoko told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Asaba, Delta State, on Sunday that the project had also employed 350 supervisors to ensure that the contractors did the job effectively.
He said that the project was executed in conjunction with the Delta Government, and the contractors would work in six cities in the state, Asaba, Udu, Uvwie, Warri, Sapele and Ughelli.
The SEEFOR coordinator said that the interventionist programme was geared towards creating employment in the state.
Ojoko said that the contractors and supervisors would be engaged for 12 months.
