Rivers State PDP Governorship Aspirant, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that PDP must win Rivers State in 2015, saying that Amaechi is merely deceiving APC to be given a slot as the opposition party’s Presidential running mate.
Addressing PDP delegates and supporters at Ahoada East during his meet the PDP Delegates tour on Thursday Wike challenged Amaechi to return to Rivers State and contend with him, rather than threaten the security of Nigeria if APC is defeated in 2015.
Barrister Wike stated Governor Amaechi due to his extreme poor performance has been rejected by Rivers people, hence he has chosen to invest the state resources in sponsoring APC’s Presidential campaigns.
He noted that Amaechi’s students’ union politics theatricals are well known to Rivers people, who are waiting to teach him a lesson at the polls.
He regretted that the Rivers State Governor has formed the habit of selling state assets to finance his political aspiration to be made an APC Presidential running mate.
“I dare Amaechi to do anything if PDP wins. Amaechi is already aware that PDP will win here and in Nigeria. We know Amaechi and his students union brand of politics cannot move us.
“Let Amaechi come home and face us instead of embarking on meaningless protests in Abuja. We must win this election. If you have a brother in APC, tell him that PDP must win the election in Rivers State. Whatever interpretation you give to the word must, that is what will happen”, Barrister Wike said.
In his address, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chidudom Nwuche said Amaechi has woefully failed Rivers people, prompting the entire state to back Wike to lead PDP to victory.
He said the entire Rivers State is a sorry sight of under development. Nwuche noted that God is rewarding Amaechi, hence he is leaving government house in disgrace.
PDP chairman in Ahoada East, Barrister Sunny Ideozu said that the people of the area stand by their endorsement of Wike for the governor of Rivers State.
The governorship aspirant had earlier met with party delegates at the secretariat where he solicited for their vote and received endorsement.
