The underwhelming start of Nigeria international striker, Brown Ideye, to his West Bromwich Albion career may see the club dispense of his services as early as January, reports indicates.
Ideyejoined the Barclays English Premier League club from Ukrainian side, Dynamo Kiev in August.
The Nigerisn international, who has been variously overlooked by Super EAgles coach, Stephen Keshi, has not scored in the league for the Baggies after 10 rounds of matches.
The Nigerian forward is the club’s record signing (he joined for £10 million) and that has seen the pressure on him intensify.
Authoritative British newspaper, the Mirror, reports that “West Brom are looking for a potential new striker in January as record signing Brown Ideye toils.”
The former Sochaux forward, 26, signed from Dynamo Kiev in July, is yet to score in the Premier League.
And Ideye did not even make the bench for Saturday’s 1-0 Premier League win at Leicester.
Baggies head coach, Alan Irvine, started in-form England prospect, Saido Berahino, who has seven league goals, and had Georgios Samaras and Victor Anichebe as subs at the King Power Stadium.
West Brom are sitting pretty at 11th in the table, four points outside the European places and the same number outside the relegation zone after 10 matches.
