President Muhammadu Buhari said has been assured by the United States and other countries of their support for his quest for the recovery and repatriation of funds stolen from Nigeria.
Buhari, who was speaking at an audience with members of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, in Abuja on Tuesday, said that the onus is now Nigerians to provide the international community with the facts and figures needed to drive the recovery effort.
Buhari’s landslide victory at the recently concluded general elections came largely as a result of Belief by Nigerians that he can best address the issues of corruption and general indiscipline in the polity.
Typically, corrupt Nigerians loke those other African countries stash their loots away in some secret accounts in different countries, especially in America and Europe.
The US has a very sophisticated finacial system which has global tentacles, which makes it the most important ally in fight against financial crimes.
