The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has anchored his election promisse on continuing the legacy of the incumbent governor Sullivan Chime if elected into office. According to Ugwuanyi, the governor has performed well and that the state would require to consolidate the gains already made. The PDP gubernatorial candidate spoke during the flag off of the Party’s campaign for the 2015 general election at Ikem, the Headquarters Isi Uzo LGA of Enugu State. Ugwuanyi explained that why he had adopted the continuity and consolidation as the theme of his manifesto to the people of the state, noting “that it will be wrong to deviate from the tempo of development already set by the Chime administration.” While thanking the governor and party faithfuls for finding him worthy to fly the party’s flag in the coming gubernatorial elections. Ugwuanyi said that the fact that the state has witnessed uncommon transformation and massive infrastructural development under governor Chime has made his own campaign a bit much easier. “Our party has performed well in Enugu Stare that is why it’s easier for us to convince the people that we will do even much more. “it is easier fir us to come back for more support. We are grateful to the governor because of the tremendous goodwill he has brought to the state. The best we can do is to continue from where will stop. I can assure you that we will have seamless continuity,” he said. While urging the people to vote President Goodluck Jonathan for also bringing the much need federal presence in the state. Ugwuanyi who also presented his running mate, Hon Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo urged the people to collect their Permanent Voters Card to enable them vote for all the candidates of the party. The governor Chime has earlier in his speech thanked the people of state for their overwhelming support for his administration, adding that he was convinced that Ugwuanyi will sustain the tempo of development in the state. He express optimism that the PDP gubernatorial candidate will emerge victorious at the polls given his popularity and acceptability across the state.
