GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has commended the state president of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade David Ofoeyeno, for employing dialogue in negotiating with government on workers’ welfare, even as he called on workers to always have confidence in the ability of their leaders to represent them.
The Governor made the call on Monday while addressing members of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Delta State chapter, who paid him a solidarity visit for appointing their former President, Comrade Olumami Oyibo, as Chairman, Local Government Service Commission in the state.
According to him, workers should always have confidence in their leadership, observing that the union leaders faced a lot of challenges in the act of representing their members.
“Please, always cooperate with your leaders, cooperate with your President, it is not easy, he is always pushing your case more than you know of especially now that there are financial challenges facing the local governments,” the Governor said.
He assured workers of his administration’s commitment to ensure good work relationship with them.
Ofoeyeno accompanied by members of the union from different local government areas of the state, commended Uduaghan for ensuring a workers’ friendly government.
Earlier, Uduaghan inaugurated the boards of the Local Government Service Commission and of the State Universal Primary Education Board (SUPEB) with Oyibo as chairman and Comrade Elijah Ologe as chairman of the board.
