How 2 teenagers drowned in Osogbo Xmas party
While the whole celebrated Christmas, two families were in deep anguish over the death of their teenage sons Ayorinde Fagbola and Ifeoluwa.
The two friends drowned in the swimming pool of a popular hotel in Osogbo during a Christmas party.
According to Vanguard account, the incident occurred on December 23, when the teenage group from a Christ Apostolic Church in Ile Ife organised a picnic for members as part of activities marking the Christmas celebrations.
The Pastor of the church and his wife were invited by the police, following the disappearance of the leaders of the group that organized the picnic.
The victims are were said to be about 17 years old.
A source said Ifeoluwa was the first to fall into the pool and Ayomide, in an attempt to rescue his friend also drowned.
It was gathered that all effort by members of the group to rescue the drowned teenagers proved abortive.
When contacted, the State Police Public Officer PPRO, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, DSP, confirmed the incident.She said that the police were already investigating the incident to unravel the circumstances behind the tragedy.
Odoro appealed to the leaders of the group to come out of hiding and assist the police in the investigation of the case.
