Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday besieged recreational spots amidst tight security on Boxing Day.
The Newsmen report that many families were seen engaged in various recreation games.
At the Wonderland Amusement Park, it was a beehive of activities as parents and children were having a good time.
Mr Godwin Amodu, a manager at the park, told newsmen that patronage had been very encouraging since Christmas day.
He said the presence of security agencies at the park created confidence in the fun seekers, who visited the place in large numbers.
“Although there are security challenges in the country, the presence of security agents here encouraged more people to come,” he said.
Mrs Martha Israel , one of the fun seekers, said the holiday had given her the opportunity to celebrate with her family.
“I believe that the best thing for me and my family is to come around here at the Wonderland Park and spend some time with them.
“We are also gathered here to thank Almighty for giving us live to witness the last month of 2014,” Israel said.
Mr Godswill Usoro, a civil servant, said members of his immediate family had always celebrated at Wonderland Park
