Residents of Kaduna State have been placed under untold hardship following a severe water scarcity that hits the State metropolis and suburbs.
Our correspondent, who monitored the situation, gathered that communities within the state metropolis such as Hayin Danmani, Television, Kabala West, Sabon-Tasha, Barnawa, Kakuri, Angwan Boro, Angwan Pama, Angwan Romi and Angwan Sunday have not had water supply for nearly one month to months respectfully.
The situation has brought untold hardship to many residents.
A traditional ruler in Angwan Boro, Haruna Goni said the situation has gone worst, even as he called on government to intervene on the situation.
According to Haruna Goni “my community has not used pipe burn water in the area since October 7th this year,” a situation he said was unacceptable.
“I’m speaking on behave of my community about this water. We have serious problem about water. Since October 7th, a single of water has not passed here. And my people are worried,” he said.
Acrss section of the rsidents who lamented to newsmen their ordeals, said appealed to the tState government to wake up to its responsibility of meeting the needs of its citizenry.
Contacted Kaduna State water Board management said Mother-Cat and other water consultants company have already been involved in the matter when internal efforts to restore the fault failed to yield positive result.
In a one paragraph message by the District Manager (DM) Barnawa water Board, Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf who spoke on behalf of the General Manager of the Board at the sight in Kamazo said the breakdown of Butterfly Valve was responsible for the shortage of water supply to all the affected community in Kaduna South.
