Goalkeeper Itodo Akor was clearly the man of the match as a 10-man Enugu Rangers side remained resolute to claim a famous road trip victory at Warri Wolves.
Against all expectations, Razak Adegbite scored the opener and the Enugu side fought like Trojans to maintain their lead following the early dismissal of defender Etim Matthew.
It was a massive change of fortune for the goalkeeper who took responsibility for the last road trip defeat at Kwara United.
“I promised my teammates and club management that I will bounce back after the defeat at Kwara United. I made mistakes and we lost.
“However, I came back better in the last home match against Abia Warriors and I’m pleased with my performance against Warri Wolves.
“This is my best performance this season and I’m working hard to remain at the top of my game. I always want to play well whenever I’m in goal.
“Moreover, it was a good performance by the entire team. The manager urged the team to keep to the game plan even after we were reduced to 10 men ”, he said to supersport.com.
Akor, who joined Rangers from El-Kanemi Warriors in 2013 has earned the manager’s confidence as first choice this term. SuperSports
