Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, wants his case seeking legal interpretations to his recent defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC)reassigned.
Tambuwal wants the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja to take away from Court 8, presided over by Justice ESJ Chukwu alleging that his antecedents in handling similar cases had demonstrated his bias.
Tambuwal, in a letter dated 30th November, cited many cases in which Justice Chukwu’s rulings had stalemated proceedings and compelled the defendants to seek justice in the Appeal Court.
The Speaker noted that Justice Chukwu, “having made a pronouncement on similar issues, in similar cases, decided by him… has an iron cast judicial position or opinion in respect of his (Tambuwal’s) own case.”
