A Federal High Court in Lagos, yesterday, dismissed the suit seeking to stop the ongoing inquest into the collapsed Synagogue building.
Trial judge, Justice Ibrahim Buba, described the suit as lacking merit, and accordingly, dismissed same.
It will be recalled that on September 12, a six-story building within the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations collapsed in Lagos, killing over 100 people most of whom were foreigners, with several others injured.
The Lagos State government had on September 26, constituted a coroner’s court to unravel the circumstances leading to the incidence, while Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe was appointed coroner.
A Lagos lawyer, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje, however, went to court, seeking an order restraining further inquest, pending the determination of the suit.
Respondents in the suit were the Lagos State government, the Attorney-General of the state, Mr. Ade Ipaye, and Magistrate Komolafe
