A northeastern town of Azare, Bauchi State was hit again on Sunday by a bomb blast which is believed to have claimed many lives.
In the latest attack, a female suicide bomber set off an explosion in on Sunday
at a market in Azare.
Unconfirmed casualty figures range from 10 to 15 deaths, while the number of injured is put at about 70.
Azare is about 200 kilometers (125 miles)south of Bauchi.
Mohammed Haruna, police public relations officer in Bauchi, confirmed the report to AP.
Azare in the space of less than three weeks has witnessed a series of attacks by the Islamic extremist group, Boko Haram which at the same time has been making rapid territorial incursions into Adamawa State.
The first attack on the town was on October 22, 2014 when a bomb planted by some unknown persons suspected to Boko Haram militants planted a bomb at the roundabout near the motor park in the town, which exploded in the night at about 9:45 pm, leving eight persons dead with many injured.
Only on Friday, November 7, 2014, at about 10:05am, a twin-bomb explosion again rocked the town, leaving on its trail more than 37 persons casualties.
The explosion occurred at the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) point of First Bank Plc, located on the Kano road in the town, where customers, mostly Bauchi State government workers who had just been paid their October salary, were on queue to withdraw money.
Of the 37 victims, 14 people died, while the remaining 23 sustained injuries and were taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in the town.
