*Ekiti indigenes urge FG to beef up security to check the viciousness of the APC crack squad
It was unprecedented violence in Ekiti as gunmen suspected to members of the All Progressives Government, APC, crack squad in Ekiti State murdered the co-ordinator of the personal security of the Ekiti Governor Elect Mr Ayodele Fayose, Omolafe Aderiye on Thursday night.
However, APC media outfit led by a New York based organization is claiming that Aderiye was shot dead because he was at the State High Court with Governor-elect Fayose. The propaganda is being spread by APC media associates on their respective timelines.
It was this plot to unleash violence and kill unarmed supporters of other political parties that compelled the Federal Government to tighten security in Ekiti and Osun. Most Nigerians in the area are now calling on the Federal Government to beef up security in Ekiti State as the APC Crack Squad having been stopped in the course of the election is now out with vengeance.
Aderiye, who was the former State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was said to have been shot while eating with friends at Ijigbo area of the state capital.
A source said his assassins dressed in Mobile Police uniform with bullet proof vest came in a white car and immediately opened fire on him.He was said to have died before he was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.Aderiye was a staunch supporter of the Governor-elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose, and took active part in his campaign coordination.
The Chief Press Secretary to Fayose, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, Thursday confirmed the incident.He said, “It is true he was killed at about 8:30p.m while he was with his friends. He was shot severally at the chest with a pump action rifle.
“He took effective participation in the coordination of security arrangement during our last campaign. His death is very unfortunate.”The Ekiti State Police command had yet to confirm the news last night as the PPRO Mr Victor Babayemi did not pick his calls.A source said his remains has been deposited at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.
