South African Ambassador to Nigeria,Lulu Louis Mnguni, has dislosed that his country has returned the $15 million seized by over alleged illegal arms deal.
Reports quote him as speaking on Friday in Nigeria.
The South African authorities had on September 5, 2014,seized the money flown into the country in a private jet which is originally-owned by President of The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritserjafor, a development that sparked outrage in Ngeria.
Insinuations did not go away even when the Federal Government owned up it was a deal legally commissioned by it.
The government later suggested it might reiterate the unprovoked affront on the country by South African government which failed to do all the needful before making development public.
“South Africa’s relations with Nigeria is priceless, it cannot be sold for $15 million. These are two separate incidents and, of course, the issue of the money has already been sorted out. Nigeria has been given the money,” Mnguni added.
On September 5, South African authorities seized $9.3 million cash belonging to the Nigerian government before seizing another $5.7 million about one month later, claiming both funds were to be used for illegal purchase of arms.
