…Says Gen. Muhamadu Buhari is a Hard Sell, Religious Extremist
The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter, Prince Felix Obuah, again describes the emergence of Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the Presidential Candidate of the Party as well deserved and a spur for overall development, not only to the people of the Niger Delta, but all Nigerians and peoples of the sub Saharan Africa.
The PDP Chairman, congratulating President Jonathan for what he considers a great feat in a most democratic and peaceful election process by the Party, notes that his emergence is a product of the Peoples demonstration of their reciprocation of the laudable transformation initiatives championed and delivered to all Nigerians, irrespective of their tribes, religions, social class, and political affiliation.
Obuah observes that it could not have been anyone else other than Dr. Jonathan, following his pedigree, humility, diplomacy, intelligence leadership prowess and Nigerianess required of a Nigerian President at this time in the annals of our history.
He further says he is more elated by the President’s commitment to give all Nigerians greater hope and improved standard of living. This, as encapsulated in his speech at the National Conventions of the Party, where he said, “I will offer an egalitarian leadership with humility and moderation to Nigerians,” is the promise of the people’s President.
While assuring President Jonathan of the massive votes by Rivers people come 2015 elections, the Rivers PDP Chairman stresses that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Flag-bearer and former military dictator, General Muhammadu Buhari, is obviously a hard sell for his party, not only as a Muslim extremist, who treats issues on religions lines, but his diminishing, absurd and out-modeled leadership qualities that can no longer stand the test of time.
From every indication, the emergence of Gen. Buhari had provided an easy ride for President Jonathan, who has performed overwhelmingly well and still energetic, focused and poised to deliver democratic dividends to Nigerians.
The Rivers PDP Chairman, Obuah, also commends the unanimous decision of the Party for the endorsement and subsequent election of President Jonathan by the Party delegates at the National Convention, Wednesday, December 10, 2014, in Abuja, saying it was a well thought out position that will further cement the unity and successes of the Party in the coming years.
While describing the APC as a pack of frustrated, visionless, incompatible and combustible elements, Obuah believes that too soon, the Party will explode with colossal and irredeemable loss on Buhari and his co-travelers.
Obuah therefore, reiterates his appeal to all well-thinking Nigerians to ignore the noise from the empty container, the APC, and come out en mass to support and vote for President Jonathan to ensure Nigeria does not divide along ethnic and religious lines.
