Calls on the Police to investigate APC officials
The Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah has called on security agencies to investigate officials of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state over the failed attempt to burn down the party’s secretariat ahead of the ward congresses.
Addressing journalists at the State PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Obuah said that few minutes after the fire started, the publicity secretary of the APC, Mr Fynbun was busy celebrating it on radio and online that the PDP secretariat has been gutted by fire.
Obuah told journalists: “Thank God your journalists are here today to inspect the secretariat. As you can see, they poured fuel on the iron door and set it on fire, but it was checked by party supporters and policemen. No single property was burnt in the secretariat.
“However, The Nation and Sun Newspapers as engineered by the APC went ahead to publish the falsehood that the secretariat was burnt down. The aim of the APC was to mislead the party members and cause disaffection. I advise journalists to embark on investigative journalism, rather than working as tools for the dissemination of false information.”
He said that the PDP remains united and strong to win all elections in 2015 despite the false propaganda being sponsored by the APC.
The Rivers PDP chairman conducted journalists round the offices of the secretariat.
