A four-time contestant for the Kebbi Central Senatorial zone, Barrister Aliyu Mohammed Sambo, says he is confident about winning the election for the House of Representatives seat.
Barrister Sambo an aide to the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs and retired Captain Ibrahim Abdullahi, submitted their nomination forms for the election while Rep. Sani Kalgo, who currently represents the constituency is vying for the governorship of the state.
“This time around after four trials as a senatorial contender, my aspiration for the House of Representatives with three local governments only, is a walk over and I am quite sure at the end of day I will succeed,” he said.
Barrister Sambo in an interview with Daily Trust during the screening of PDP House of Representatives aspirants yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, said his support of any candidate depends on whether the candidate that emerged during the primaries abide by the laid down constitution and guidelines of the party.
He called on the PDP to abide by the rules of the game and the aspirants to try as much as possible to ensure that they submit the genuine credentials to avoid any case that may be instituted against them for submitting wrong ones.
He called on the party to ensure a level playing ground to all the aspirants to ensure victory against the opposition.
“It depends on the way and manner the primary is conducted. Like now, the two of us are the only eligible aspirants who will go for primaries and whoever emerges among two of us, definitely I will support him,” he stated.
