The presidential candidadate of People’s Democratic Party, Preisident Goodluck JonThan will on Friday present the party’s flag to its gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Jonathan who will be in Enugu on Friday to kick off his 2015 presidential campaign is expected to perform this ceremony as part of the highlights of the campaign event.
Uguwanyi, who emerged the candidate of the party in the state during the December 10, gubernatorial primary, is in a pole position to beat candidates of other political parties to become the governor of the state come May 29, 2015.
This ceremony will put paid to apprehensions about Ugwuanyi’s ticket following court actions by his main challenger to the ticket in the state, Senator Ayogu Eze.
Eze led some party faithful to conduct a parallel primary on the day of the primary at Filbon Hotel Enugu, where he announced himself as the winner of the ticket. He claims he held authentic primary even when party officials from the headquarters, INEC officials were not his venue.
